KindPath Collective Inc
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy
Version 1.0 | Effective: 29 August 2026 | Review: 29 August 2027 | Owner: Director
1. Purpose
To ensure KindPath’s services and workplace are genuinely accessible and welcoming to people regardless of disability, race, culture, gender identity, sexuality, religion, age, or socioeconomic background.
2. Legislative and standards basis
Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth); Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth); Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth); Age Discrimination Act 2004 (Cth); Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
3. Policy statement
KindPath does not discriminate in who it supports or employs, and actively works to remove barriers — physical, communication, financial, or cultural — that would otherwise exclude someone from accessing support. This connects directly to the Individual Values, Beliefs and Cultural Safety Policy for participant-facing practice, and extends it to KindPath’s own workforce and governance.
4. Procedure
- Recruitment and volunteer engagement are open and non-discriminatory, assessed on ability to do the role safely and well.
- Communication with participants and families is adapted to need (easy-read, interpreter engagement, alternative formats) rather than assuming one format works for everyone.
- Any complaint of discrimination — by a participant, worker, or member of the public — is treated as seriously as a safeguarding concern.
5. Roles and responsibilities
- Director: ensures this policy is reflected in recruitment, service design, and communication formats.
